Katy Gray is a student in college when her parents are suddenly killed in a car crash. In order to continue her education, she has to borrow money. When an opportunity is offered for her to pay back the loans and the rest of her education, she readily accepts. Little did she dream how it would change her life. She was sent to student teach in the Appalachian Mountains, a place she hated and found its people strange. She was bitter toward God for taking her parents and blamed Him for her unhappiness.
