Songs from the Heart is a collection of poems written over the years and express many heartfelt feelings never shared before. Many of the poems express the importance and complications of family. Family helps us get through some tough situations but also makes seemingly simple situations more complicated. There are many poems about the joys and heartbreaks in the teaching profession. Teaching is one of the most important and underappreciated occupations ever. The possibility of reaching unwilling learners far outweighs the possibility of opening yourself up to vulnerable situations. There are poems about how friends can help us out in tough situations, yet the dependence on friends can be painful in the long run.As we walk through this life, it is so awesome and sometimes necessary to share with friends, but it also opens us up to much heartbreak and pain when friends have to depart. There are poems about God and a greater power than us. God is always with us, but most of the time we choose not to see him. Nature is another topic of many poems and describes the beauty of this world that we usually take for granted. And lastly, many of the poems describe a talent that we have that is dear to us but hard to share because that means opening ourselves up for criticism and failure. These poems express a God–given talent that needs to be shared at home and abroad. I hope they ease your pain as they have mine.
