The peaceful Kingdom of Sagon, which existed on a huge cloud above the lands far below, and Queen Victoria, who ruled Sagon, was on the verge of war with the Kingdom of Omart, which existed on the lands beneath the cloud and was ruled by an evil king, whose name was Mozar, who wanted to wage war with Sagon. There had been a long–standing quarrel between the two monarchs, who had opposed the marriage between the queen's daughter, Princess Ursula, and the king's son, Prince George.When Victoria decides to put her foot down and insists that her daughter must never see her beloved prince again, Ursula-who is heartbroken by her mother's wishes-flees her great kingdom on the back of her winged white horse. She soon discovers a strange dimension, where she meets a queen whose name is Mirabelle and is the queen of the good fairies. Mirabelle decides to help and to protect the princess, who has lost her memory because of a horrible encounter with an evil dragon. Ursula cannot remember anything about her life in Sagon.
Before long, George learns that she has run off to a far–off dimension. He leaves his kingdom to search for her in the dimension. He faces many dangers and encounters mythical creatures, including good and evil fairies, a fire–breathing dragon, and an evil prince whose name is Zedus and who has cast an evil spell over the princess. He intends to keep her a prisoner in his kingdom forever.
When George also learns that Ursula is carrying his child and that if the spell is not broken before the darkest night comes upon the dimension, the child will die and his beloved princess will remain under Zedus's spell forever.
