Chrysalis in the Garden is a book about taking a leap of faith and making important choices that lead to change. Change brings growth, and with growth we can look back and help others on their path too. Life is different for all of us, but one thing we know for certain is that it never stays the same. Sometimes it feels easy to stay where we're comfortable rather than uproot ourselves and go into the unknown. But if we don't move along with life, we'll be left behind.
The caterpillar in this book is leading a comfy, uneventful life until she begins to wonder if there is more in store for her. She decides to move to a higher spot and put herself out there. In doing so, she receives encouragement from a beautiful butterfly-one who has gone before her. Upon hearing how difficult the change will be, she thinks about whether or not the hard parts will be worth it. After she makes the choice, she is transformed into a whole new version of herself. She's able to fly and now has access to delicious nectar that used to be far out of reach. Because she's been where others are, she is the one encouraging them to embark on the brave path of self-discovery.
The caterpillar represents each of us, and the butterfly is anyone whom we look up to and aspire to be like. We all have the ability to do and be all that this life has in store for us if we're only willing to take the leap of faith, make the choice, and make the change.
