This is a unique story of how our God shows us that His grace is sufficient in all seasons of despair. Also, all the while God is bringing us personally into a closer walk with Him. By fixing our eyes and thoughts on Him, we can be blessed in unusual ways in our lives. We can face all tribulations of this life on earth with peace and joy.
God's ways are not ours, and our ways are not His. God made all things of creation, which means all things come under His subjection. In the Bible, God made a donkey talk, so why could He not use a dog today to bring joy back into one's life during times of depression?
God's plans are not made day to day, so why not expect Him to know what we need and when we need it? He can use the things that bring us joy and enhance them to the point that we can only see Him as the giver of such joy.
The story encourages us to see God in a different light, which means not to put God in a box. Open your hearts and minds to what God may or can use to bless you in uncommon ways. His blessings do abound all around in different ways if we'll only care to look.
This story is about how God brought me a very amazing dog at a time in my life when depression was trying to overtake me. Sonny's extreme intelligence and unique personality allowed me to start experiencing joy and learning the love of God again in a refreshing new way.
In the process of working with Sonny, I found a new friendship that has continued to grow and is certainly obvious to all. This dog was most certainly a gift from God at a time in my life when it was most needed. God knew it.
All thanksgiving and gratefulness to God, who cares for us in our darkest times in this life.
