Barnaby Bunch, Paffuto the hefty canary, and a tiny army of courageous hamsters were finally at rest in the Castle of Light. Life is good in the peace and safety of the castle until one day, Minuscola, the delicate red-frosted canary, brings horrifying news. Serigala the wolf is still alive! The wolf will return, but this time as an underling to Moonclaw, the Great Spirit Bear. To make matters far more dangerous, Moonclaw calls upon the last of the Scandinavian giants, Bryndar and Thorgar, to crush the castle walls before setting himself on the throne. The unholy union of a monstrous bear, a bitter wolf, and two stone giants are preparing to march against the children of light. But there is something of great value hidden deep inside the castle that Moonclaw desires more than anything, and he will destroy everything in his path in order to hold it in his evil white paws. Will Barnaby stay and fight, or will every citizen of the castle be forced to flee and give up their beloved home? How can a small group of hamsters stand up to the overwhelming dark storm that is coming? Will their daggers and bows be enough? And who will be sitting on the throne at the end?
