Four Seas is a chapbook of rupture and return. It lives in the tenderness and recoil, longing and refusal, intimacy and distance. These pieces invite the reader to sit with pain rather than resolving it, to observe how pain rearranges language, memory, and one's own identity over time. The work bathes in moments that resist a neat ending. Each entry flows along its own shoreline while still all being shaped by emotional tides rather than a linear narrative. Some brief and sharp, others slow and submerged. Silence is to be honored as much as speech. The blank pages and pauses allow for a breath, and or an echo to follow. The collection centers themes of identity, detachment, desire, and disillusion, where voices move between confession and restraint that refuse to explain themselves fully. This refusal creates autonomy. Four Seas does not ask to be interpreted; it asks to be encountered. By embodying the essence of water through emotional drift, we are reminded of our malleability. We may never return to the same place unchanged. Relationships are thought of as currents, pulling, dissolving, and carrying one elsewhere.
