Something very embarrassing happened to Katie in the produce section of a grocery store. She chose three oranges from the bottom of a pyramid of oranges, and they all came tumbling down, rolling across the floor and heading for the exits. One of them found its way to the dairy department, where Katie's elementary school custodian, shopping for cheese, had accidentally crushed it, sending juice and pits into his eye.
Katie's embarrassed, frightened, and sad, but Brody's excellent listening skills and the custodian's patient words saved the day.
Brody said, "Even tall people with PhDs choose oranges from the bottom!"
The custodian added, "I will take the sting and embarrassment of one orange squirting juice and pits into my eye if it makes children laugh and smile."
