All of which exposes us to temporary fear as we learn that things are not what we thought they were, yet if we continue to move forward in good faith, daylight comes again, and the horrible creatures are not as bad as they were before. On October 31, 1985, I walked with my three children to a school celebration in Seattle, Washington. When we walked into the auditorium, one of the teachers said, "You are such a happy mother to have a daughter with such a long face." I thought, Oh my god! No! Do not let it be repeated in the next generation. Internally, I realized the forces of evil were visiting again. I simply did not want to deal with this truth anymore. I knew that with this truth, I would have to move on as a single parent. I said, "What is wrong with you, honey? Why are you crying all the time?" We looked at pictures when she was happy and full of laughter. She responded, "Oh, I used to be happy until--"
