God wants of all us, His children, to return to Him. He and his angels are waiting to give us a royal welcome to His kingdom of bliss, abundance, and peace. But in an impure state, He cannot receive us. The work of soul-healing needs to start here and now where everyone finds himself or herself. To make it back to God, the surrendering of the ego self to God's divine will is a must.Ever since the first spirit separated itself from God, it has been the Lord's most fervent desire to unite us back with Him and return to us our lost state of completion and fulfillment. For this purpose, the earthly sphere was finally created. In this imperfect environment of duality, difficulties, challenges, pain, and suffering, the also imperfect spirits could work out their sins, erroneous ways, or karma; and by so doing, purify themselves and be ready to claim again their lost sonhood and daughterhood.Since the first human set foot on earth, God has wanted from us, principally, one thing. He has demanded that we obey Him and live under His divine laws. This is not an arbitrary demand. To show us the way and to demonstrate to us that this is possible, He has sent many prophets—His first begotten Son Jesus, saints, and many divine incarnations—here on earth. The Lord knows in His all permeating transcendental wisdom that only by loving Him above all else and by obeying His universal laws can we remain connected with Him and consequently happy, free, and fulfilled. The work for all of us to do here in this world is the work of soul purification, the work of freeing the soul from the entanglement of the little ego self. When through self-work, personal efforts, loving, harmonious discipline under the guidance of our intuition we can tame and train our ego to abide by and conduct itself in accordance with the will of God, loving, unrestricted, unreserved surrender becomes possible. We can again enter into the heavenly kingdom of peace, joy, abundance, and bliss.
