This memoir will take you on a journey that led a man to God. It uses the metaphor "bus stop and transfer," to depict his travels. As the reader moves through each bus stop it will reveal the many challenges, struggles, successes and influences he faces. He's been described as a "miracle baby, a pothead, drug dealer, male prostitute, entrepreneur, prayer warrior and Man after God's own heart." You will laugh about the "chocolate milk man" and his "pinball" machine business failure, and be amazed about his survival from a ninety–foot fall, appalled by his arrogance toward women, drug use, and boasting of his good looks.
Finally, you will be amazed how God used him to lead inmates at San Quentin Prison to Christ, help organize a men's fellowship and discipleship program at his church, become a devoted father and prayer warrior, and help start Men Praying Across America by cellphone. This group at one point, connected over thirty men across ten states. It was a place where men became transparent and transformed to be better husbands, fathers, men, and people. The group remained active even after he died in 2008. His legacy lives on. Although this memoir is about one man's journey, you may find yourself also on a journey and not sure where you're going. Doc has this advice: "Get on the bus, sit down, shut up and get off where He tells you" (Jeremiah 29:11).
Keith "Doc" Holliday (1955–2008)
This book is for people who believe they can change with the help of God and others like me. If you lack faith in God, pray about it before reading this amazing story of God's blessings. I was not saved until long into my adulthood. I never thought I needed anything except money and friends, as well as my "good looks"––ha! Well, how wrong I was. None of those things gave me peace, joy, happiness, or eternal life. As you will notice throughout this book, you might find yourself in the same places I was. I'm writing the book as a ministry unto God, for His glory and honor. If it changes one soul, then God has fulfilled His plan in Jeremiah 29:11. (Keith's words, August 2007, Albany, Oregon.)
