Tyler McPherson thought he was buying an abandoned lighthouse on the shores of Lake Michigan. Instead, he discovers a mystery, a community divided by grief and suspicion, and a presence overhead that knocks twice whenever it approves.Set against the closing years of World War II, The Light from the Shore follows Tyler and his wife, Eva, as they pour their savings and their hearts into restoring a lighthouse that many in Debanawen believe should be torn down. Beside them stand Mark, a minister with an uncommon spiritual gift, and Julie, a spirited red-haired waitress who came to town half hoping the ghost stories were true.
As journals surface, a long-buried cedar box is unearthed, and the scent of lilacs drifts through rooms that have stood silent for decades, the lighthouse begins revealing the lives, sacrifices, and quiet miracles it has guarded for generations. But not every secret is meant to remain buried, and some lights continue to shine long after those who tended them are gone.
