Christmas just hasn't been the same since Trey's parents got divorced. Though he has a wonderful stepdad now, he still misses the days when his family was whole.
Now that he's almost a teenager, he's being allowed to visit his dad alone for a few days before the holiday, giving the two a chance to spend some much–needed time alone together.
While visiting, Miles, Trey's father, notices his son has lost some of the magic of Christmas. At his urging, Trey writes a letter to Santa. Thinking nothing of it, Miles mails the letter, and surprisingly, the two receive a response.
What happens next, neither of them would've ever imagined.
