The title Up from Silence came as a result of the author's stuttering. She was teased and laughed at by otherstudents in school every time she tried to speak. She felt so sad and discouraged that she stopped talking. Theauthor hopes her book will be an encouragement to others who have experienced or are currently experiencinga similar situation.
